Alemês - A Visual Dictionary

I'm Portuguese. My wife is German. When we started dating, we decided to learn each others' language. So we created the Alemês project - a homemade dictionary that translates German and Portuguese words into a common language we both understand: pictures.

This is how it works: we pick a word - it can be a noun, verb, adjective or swear word (our favourite category, of course). Then, and to make it easier to remember, we turn that word into an illustration. 
If it works with 2-year olds, it will work with us. 
At least we hope so.
